Inspire and Teach Earrings

A great teacher not only teaches the material at hand (math, science, history, etc.) but also inspires students to learn whatever they want to know about the world around them.

These cute hand stamped earrings are the perfect accessory for a favorite teacher. To create them, I hand stamped the words "teach" and "inspire" on U.S.-made metal circles and then added a brushed texture. The circles are made with a tin-based metal alloy that is heavier than aluminum, but less expensive than sterling silver.

Ear wires: Sterling silver

Sterling silver ear wires are a little more expensive than silver-plated or surgical steel, but they usually work well for people who have sensitive skin or allergies. If you choose copper circles, your earrings will come with niobium (hypoallergenic) ear wires.

Length: 1 5/8" (4.12 cm)

Earring length is always measured from the top of the ear wire (the part that will be in your ear) to the end of the earring.

Technique: Hand stamped
Hand stamped items use hand tools (a hammer and steel stamps) to add the letters and numbers one at a time. No lasers or machines! Because of the hand tools, you may notice light hammer marks or a brushed (not smooth) texture on the metal, particularly on the back.

If you would prefer a smooth surface on the back, ask me about creating a wood (not metal) laser engraved custom piece.
